Terms

Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and BeyerBytes, which runs Restless. By playing on Restless or using this website, you agree to them.

Last updated:

The basics

  • Restless is free to play. Anyone of any age can play.
  • If you are under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian. They agree to them for you and help you follow them.
  • Restless is not an official Minecraft service, and it is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. You still have to follow Minecraft's own terms: the Minecraft End User License Agreement and Microsoft's terms.
  • Our privacy policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Your account

  • You play with your own genuine Minecraft account (a Microsoft account, or Xbox on Bedrock). We don't create accounts or ask for passwords.
  • Keep your account to yourself. Don't share, sell or buy accounts, ranks or in-game items for real money.
  • You are responsible for what happens on your account. If someone else used it, tell us.

Rules

Our server rules are part of these terms. In short: be kind, keep it family-friendly, keep personal information private, no dating or romantic roleplay, keep conversations in the server, no spam or advertising, and play fair.

Never use Restless to break the law, to harm a child, or to share illegal content.

How we moderate

  • A chat filter automatically blocks messages with bad language, personal information, links and other rule breaks. It checks public chat, private messages, signs and books. A blocked message is not shown to anyone. The filter never punishes anyone by itself.
  • Our moderators are adult volunteers. They watch chat, read reports and decide on punishments.
  • Anyone can report. In the game, type /report. You can also email us. Staff see reports straight away.
  • What staff can do: give a warning, mute you for a time, kick you, ban you for a time or for good, and remove or roll back builds that break the rules.
  • We tell you why. A warning, mute, kick or ban message says what rule was broken.
  • Serious safety concerns, like a child in danger, are reported to the police or child-safety organizations.

We don't have to warn you before acting if someone could get hurt. Bans can apply to your account and, for serious cases, to your internet connection.

Appeals and complaints

If you think a decision was wrong, or you want to complain about anything on Restless, email contact@restlessmc.net with your username, what happened and roughly when. A parent or guardian can write for you.

  • The owner, or a staff member who wasn't part of the first decision, looks at it again.
  • We aim to answer within 7 days, and we tell you the result and why.
  • Please stay calm and polite. Abuse in an appeal can make a punishment longer.

Your builds and messages

  • Your ideas are yours. By building or writing on Restless, you let us host, show, save and back up what you make, and use screenshots or videos of our worlds, which may include your builds, to show Restless to others. We never use your name or face without asking.
  • Builds live on our servers. We may move, change or remove builds, for example when they break the rules, when a world resets for a new season, or when an area is no longer used.
  • Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

Our content

Our worlds, builds, characters, stories, artwork, resource packs, plugins and this website belong to BeyerBytes. You may enjoy them while you play, and you may make videos and streams of Restless (see our creator page). Please don't copy them to use elsewhere. Minecraft belongs to Mojang and Microsoft.

The store

Our store isn't open yet. When it opens, these terms apply to it:

  • Tebex sells our items. Tebex takes the payment as the seller, and its checkout terms apply too.
  • Buyers must be 16 or older. Younger players need a parent or guardian to buy for them.
  • What's sold. Every item and its price is listed on our store page before it goes on sale. At launch the store sells cosmetic ranks, which change how you look, like a rank tag. There are no loot boxes or gambling.
  • One-time payments. Items on sale are one-time payments. A rank you buy stays on your account; it is not taken away when a new season starts.
  • Type the right name. Items go to the player name typed at checkout. Bedrock players: put a dot before your name, like .Steve. We can't move an item to another name.
  • No cash value. Items can't be swapped for money or moved to another account.
  • If you are banned, you can't use your items while the ban lasts. A ban for breaking the rules doesn't give you a refund.
  • Refunds: if something went wrong, like a mistake or an item that didn't arrive, email us within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you. Refunds go through Tebex. This doesn't affect any rights you have under the law where you live.
  • Chargebacks: if a payment is reversed through a bank or card company, the item is removed. Please email us first; we're happy to help.

Changes and downtime

  • We're always improving Restless, so games, worlds and features change. Sometimes a game closes or a world resets.
  • Servers sometimes go offline for updates or because of problems. We try to keep them running, but we can't promise they always will.
  • If Restless ever closes for good, we'll give as much notice as we can on this website and in our Discord.
  • If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll also post a notice on this website and in our Discord before they start.

Our responsibility

  • Restless is a free game run by a small team. We provide it "as is", without promises that it will always work or never lose data.
  • As far as the law allows, BeyerBytes isn't responsible for losses that come from using Restless, like lost items, builds or progress, and our total responsibility to you is never more than what you paid us in the last 12 months.
  • Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law, including as a consumer.
  • You can stop playing at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data (see our privacy policy). We can stop you from playing if you break these terms or the rules.
